Despite the fact that environmental disasters are lining up and threatening our very existence, environmental protection in Denmark remains at the bottom of public spending and is almost the only expenditure item that has not increased. If inflation is taken into account, environmental protection has actually been declining. So much for the ‘Minister of the Sea’. Can neither the government nor the opposition see the writing on the wall?
