Free speach and our resposibilities

24 May 2025

I hope that someone will take Inger Støjberg, Morten Messerschmidt and others to court for their statements that Israel should have the right to ‘finish the job’, thereby inciting ethnic cleansing, terrorism and crimes against humanity. If you express sympathy for the Palestinians or their allies in Iran or North Yemen in this country, you are automatically registered as radicalised and monitored by both PET and FE. Støjberg even states that, as a condition for Danish citizenship, one must recognise Israel's right to maintain its apartheid policy. Where are we with her? Where have we ended up? These are sick statements! In Denmark, you are free to support the regime of terror in Israel, which has oppressed human rights for decades and killed thousands of civilians every year, but you do not have the freedom of speech to point out the internationally recognised right of an oppressed people to defend themselves against an illegal occupying power. Not even the ongoing crimes against humanity, which violate every law of war, make the fanatics realise that they are on the wrong side and will end up on the wrong side of history. If justice and humanism are ever to return to Denmark and the Western world, there needs to be a reckoning with those who have openly supported Israel's ongoing genocide, because, just as under Nazism, it is obvious to everyone what is currently happening and thus our own responsibility for it. When Trump and Netanyahu eventually fall, I call for a Nuremberg trial against them and their followers.
