Mette Frederisksen's priorities
Mette Frederiksen as prime minister is becoming an increasingly significant issue for Denmark. Her unwillingness to speak out against Israel places us in the international community alongside the United States and Israel, while she is becoming almost obsessively focused on continuing a war in Ukraine that we cannot win. With tunnel vision, she rejects diplomacy and reason in favour of resolving the conflict by force. The Vietnam War. Afghanistan. Ukraine. Regardless of who started the wars and for what reason, there comes a point in every war when one must face reality and acknowledge that the price of continuing is not commensurate with what can realistically be achieved. Mette Frederiksen believes that you can win a war against a nuclear power by transferring a small part of the Ministry of Finance's budget from the environment and welfare to the Ministry of Defence. It has been proven that this kind of half-hearted foreign policy leads to losing wars. The EU can only win a war against Russia if we go to war ourselves and pay the price with something reminiscent of the US's attempt to win the Vietnam War. This has both foreign and domestic policy costs. It costs not only Ukrainian lives but also European lives, and neither the EU nor the US is willing to do that. Therefore, the war cannot be won. And that is why Mette Frederiksen's tunnel vision is a death sentence. For decades, Europe has simply been a tail-ender to US foreign policy. That was a mistake, and that is why we will lose all major conflicts in the coming decades. I can well understand that Mette Frederiksen is frustrated with the EU's situation, but we will not solve the problem by betting the farm on a gamble when we do not have the cards in our hand to win.
